Two Part Webinar - "Ex Fizz 101" and Power Training Principles
Two part webinar: "Ex Fizz 101" & Power Training Princicples
Part 1: "Ex Fizz 101" - The Physiology Behind Power-Based Training
Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
In the first part of this two part webinar, Andy Coggan, PhD, will discuss the physiological underpinnings to power-based training, with specific reference to the various analytical tools that he has developed. In particular, he will discuss the metabolic pathways used to provide energy during exercise and the physiological determinants of performance, and how these relate to the notion of power profiling. He will also cover the scientific basis for the concept of functional threshold power, and why this was chosen as an “anchor point” for the power-based training levels and in quadrant analysis. Finally, he will also discuss the physiological thinking behind development of the normalized power algorithm, training stress score, and the Performance Manager approach to monitoring training.
Part 2: The Practical Application of Training with Power Principles
Duration: 2 hours 20 minutes
In Part 2 of this Webinar, Hunter Allen will give teach you the practical side of Training with power. Hunter will take fictional athlete "Tommy Torque" and build a training plan for him, then analyze his power files and help you to understand all the steps to training with power. Once you know some basic information about yourself and have done some testing, you can apply the same steps that Hunter applies each day to the athletes he coaches. This will be great way to make sure you are applying all of the latest in exercise physiology tips and techniques that Dr. Coggan has built and apply them in a sensible, rational manner for the best results.
